What do YOU think about the Reply to Esther McVey’s

Yes it has arrived, 8 weeks after being posted we have a response to our open letter to Esther Mcvey, if you recall we demonstrated how the ‘Facts’ she had used to justify the closure of DLA were in reality not True.

Then on June 19th we suggested you to write to your MP and ask them to query with Ms McVey why she had failed to reply to the 866 people who signed the open letter; today Debbie received the following

“Dear Ms

Thank you for your correspondence regarding your Open Letter to Esther McVey MP. Government Ministers receive a large volume of correspondence and they are unable to reply personally on every occasion. I have been asked to respond and I apologies for the delay.

The Welfare Reform Act 2012 paves the way you’re a radical welfare reform programme designed to tackle entrenched poverty and end intergenerational worklessness. These reforms are urgently needed.

The Government has made it clear that employment and personal responsibility are fundamentally important in reducing poverty and is committed to ensuring the most vulnerable in society are helped to fulfil their potential while also ensuring that those who can work are also helped to do so. This is its clear policy objective.

The Department for Work and Pension releases a large amount of National and official statistics via its website, across all areas of its policy responsibilities, which can be accessed by anyone outside the Department. It is because of this open approach that politicians, academics, the media and wider public, are readily able to debate and interpret performance.

Yours sincerely

Head of the Correspondence Team”

As you’ll see there is NO response to any of our questions, and personally I don’t believe this is good enough ?

If you agree, please get back in touch with your MP and tell them WHY you’re unsatisfied and also asking just HOW is this a reply to our letter.

Alternatively watch this space, as they’ll be another template letter coming soon to help.

I believe it is time our Politicians treated us with the Respect we deserve as adults and  remembered that we, as the Electorate, deserve the Truth about all matters of Government.

But only Together can we demand this and put Stop The Lies

This is a bare-faced lie. No-one ever fulfills their potential whilst under torture. Simple.

  2. Strange para 2; “you’re a radical reform program”, what is this, some kind of role-play viewpoint?

Clearly they have an entrenched attitude, that people “like” to vegetate and are incapable of reaching out for opportunities. This I find the most annoying fallacy of their idiom.

In truth, people WILL reach out for opportunities, ALL people do (excepting the most helpless). The failure of the system is that there are few if any opportunities to reach out for.

Unemployment might be much better dealt with if it was handled locally

  3. A very unsatisfactory reply with two glaring spelling/grammatical errors which is poor coming from a department such as this. Nothing has been addressed; it is the usual spouting of the usual pathetic line of thinking (the only repetitive drivel missing is the ‘those who want to work hard and get on’ mantra ! ) They keep on spouting on about how they want to protect and support the most vulnerable…..but it is these very people they are hounding to their deaths with full knowledge, (which is as bad as standing by and watching)…whilst the boss of Atos, the company to which they have given the remit to carry out the evil ‘processing’ earns 2.3 MILLION pounds per year for ensuring that his workforce carry it out effectively. Shame on Madam McVey, Ian Dilusional Smith, Mark Hoban, David CaMORON and anyone else who supports the heinous treatment of the sick and disabled of the UK. I hope and pray that the legal systems will soon catch up with them…….

  5. a total disgrace you would think it was almost “churned” out, “The Welfare Reform Act 2012 paves the way you’re a radical welfare reform programme designed to tackle entrenched poverty and end intergenerational worklessness” part of this makes no sense..and as for inter generational..we knows that’s a lie.

“Head of the Correspondence Team” needs a lesson in letter writing and answering questions, an utter failure

  6. A letter clearly written without care or thought. a rehash of party line, propaganda I could have heard on the BBC and evasion of the points raised. Not good enough, not even close to being good enough.

  10. Have you tried sending a FOI request about the figures, then challenging her with that? It is easy to talk jargon, but using their own official data in an official response helps the challenge. Plus getting the two letters published?
