Jarman: Leeds worst CHU in England! (Except for some others)

I don’t blog on the NHS, not because I don’t care – I DO I rely upon it but, because other bloggers know far more than I ever will about the Politics of it.

That said here’s one of the best, a real must READ if you want to see just what’s going on behind the scenes…

The BBC long ago abandoned any pretence of impartiality on the NHS, instead contributing with gusto to the disinformation on issues like the A&E crisis, or even virtually ignoring major stories like the almost unanimous condemnation of the then-NHS bill (now Health and Social Care Act) or the astonishing march of 51,000 peoplethrough the streets of Stafford in support of their wrongly-maligned and now-threatened hospital.

And so it continued with Friday’s ridiculous article on children’s heart surgery at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), which quoted Professor Brian Jarman..

What do YOU think about the Reply to Esther McVey’s

Yes it has arrived, 8 weeks after being posted we have a response to our open letter to Esther Mcvey, if you recall we demonstrated how the ‘Facts’ she had used to justify the closure of DLA were in reality not True.

Then on June 19th we suggested you to write to your MP and ask them to query with Ms McVey why she had failed to reply to the 866 people who signed the open letter; today Debbie received the following

“Dear Ms

Thank you for your correspondence regarding your Open Letter to Esther McVey MP. Government Ministers receive a large volume of correspondence and they are unable to reply personally on every occasion. I have been asked to respond and I apologies for the delay.

The Welfare Reform Act 2012 paves the way you’re a radical welfare reform programme designed to tackle entrenched poverty and end intergenerational worklessness. These reforms are urgently needed.

The Government has made it clear that employment and personal responsibility are fundamentally important in reducing poverty and is committed to ensuring the most vulnerable in society are helped to fulfil their potential while also ensuring that those who can work are also helped to do so. This is its clear policy objective.

The Department for Work and Pension releases a large amount of National and official statistics via its website, across all areas of its policy responsibilities, which can be accessed by anyone outside the Department. It is because of this open approach that politicians, academics, the media and wider public, are readily able to debate and interpret performance.

Yours sincerely

Head of the Correspondence Team”

As you’ll see there is NO response to any of our questions, and personally I don’t believe this is good enough ?

If you agree, please get back in touch with your MP and tell them WHY you’re unsatisfied and also asking just HOW is this a reply to our letter.

Alternatively watch this space, as they’ll be another template letter coming soon to help.

I believe it is time our Politicians treated us with the Respect we deserve as adults and  remembered that we, as the Electorate, deserve the Truth about all matters of Government.

But only Together can we demand this and put Stop The Lies

The Return to Serfdom??

Today I find myself in absolute turmoil, like many others I live in such constant pain it drains me into fatigue and stupor; I also survive in fear and terror of that envelope which might sever my financial lifeline.  Because of this I write blogs, I share information via social networks & I take part in local events courtesy of an array of pain medication.

There are two specific reasons for my disarray, yesterday I doped up and with my partner/carer went into town to the People United bus; whilst there and being me, I decided to ‘get stuck in’. There was amongst several other activities, a cardboard cut out of the PM along with post-its & pens to collect the views of people on Government Policies; so armed with said equipment, I began to try and collect opinions. Politely I approached people and asked if they were’ happy with what was happening in the Country today’ and if ‘there was one thing they could say to the PM what would it be?’; the majority of people immediately responded NO to the first point, but then to my astonishment most refused to add a comment, despite total anonymity! In 35 years of community engagement I can honestly say I’ve never come across such responses as this.

The second reason is for my confusion was my immediate response to one line in a blog  – “Our forebears were prepared to give their lives to stop this sort of thing. What are we prepared to give?” The blog in question was written by Jonathan Kent and debated who had instructed the Police to infiltrate groups and gather data, from left wing protesters like Greenpeace to so called “militant Islamists”. He concluded by suggesting that maybe it isn’t Governments that were responsible but private corporations.

Without thinking my reaction was “A tweet, a post on Facebook, maybe even a blog – & what will this stop the pervasive withdrawal of our Rights & ultimately a return to Serfdom?“; and virtually as quickly, I realised my instinctive retort really bothered me.  I’d unconsciously linked the fact that these ‘private companies’, who are owned by the uber-rich, are the same people who have since society began, believed they ‘owned’ the majority of the people; and that we of the 95/99% have yielded and ‘given up’ the struggle for freedom.

I am particularly disturbed because on even reflection, I can’t find good reason to ignore either my astonishment at yesterdays responses, nor my instinctive reaction to the blog. I fully acknowledge how many of us are fighting back through sharing information, and attempting to tell the truth through our multitude of social media outlets, I’m also aware of the wide range of groups  coming together via The People’s Assembly, and Left Unity, but I do not believe this is enough.  as I write this I have thought bubbles floating around of invisible men smirking as they watch us, striving to share the Truth.

Osborne’s Spending Review yesterday demonstrated how major negative changes are insidiously slotted into long, tedious speeches they get overlooked. The inclusion of Personal Independence Payments (formally DLA) into the Benefit Cap will mean that those of us fortunate enough to actually be awarded this life saving element of Social Security; which is supposedly granted to cover the Extra Expenses of being ill, may actually see no benefit from it. This vital payment will from 2015 no longer be excluded from income when calculating  Tax, or Housing Benefit, and could therefore become void! For a fuller explanation – http://diaryofabenefitscrounger.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/the-cruelty-in-osbornes-csr.html?spref=fb

To return to Kent, he said People have died in the fight for privacy and freedom and I share his query, just “what are we prepared to give?“. I am in no way advocating for people to martyr themselves, there is more than enough death as a result of this Governments Reforms as it is but; I do believe people have to temporarily leave their PCs, Laptops & Phones and actively take part in something more than social media.

History, both that written down by the victors or the other sort, that passed down to us via our community elders, clearly indicates the only way ordinary people achieve positive change is to fight for it together; and I’m afraid that people generally are so caught up in the multiple webs of deceit they don’t understand this, or worse  they just don’t give a damn.

I’m as guilty as anyone of not ‘giving enough’; but this time I can’t afford either morally or financially  to allow my constant pain, fear, or pressure of those who care for me, to prevent me from fighting.  If I truly want things to alter from the current course of destructive  Policies based upon Lies , and the covert removal of my rights  that my own grandpa was blown up for, I have to ACT and it has to start NOW.

The only way for me to do this is to not only join organisations actively taking up the challenge such as DPAC, but to take to the streets with them; and to engage with new projects including PPP which aims to meet with small groups/individual & link them with other groups arranging peaceful protests.

Because personally the alternative is to concede and accept I’m in thrall, surviving only at the whim of my Rich Elite Masters – and that is worse than Death in my book.

Austerity still won’t work in 2020: Stop the madness now

“If austerity isn’t working, why is George Osborne setting budgets until 2020, way beyond the term of parliament, and without an overall majority. By what democratic right does he seek to do this. It is about time politicians started listening to the People. It is, aver all, the people who are EMPLOYING them, not the other way around“…

Pls share & Tweet as widely as possible. Thanks

Pls send this letter to your coalition MP

If You are unfortunate enough to have a Tory/LibDem MP, here’s a great & simple challenge:

I would therefore like to enlist your help to send a letter or email to every coalition MP that cuts out – or at least renders overtly embarrassing – the option of doing the same thing in response. Hopefully, the wording of this new missive will at the least focus the attention of the recipients on trying to actually respond to the questions asked, rather than parroting some lines that simply sidestep them.”

Pls send this letter to your coalition MP.

This is an excellent way to clearly demonstrate how concerned the ConDems are in your opinion!

HAVE FUN

Dear Esther Mcvey – We’d like a reply please

Dear Esther McVey

We are very disappointed to find ourselves having to write once again to you after sending you our Open Letter on the 9th of May 2013, which was signed by over 800 disabled people, family and friends.

We find it astonishing that over a month later we have yet to receive an acknowledgement of receipt of the open letter let alone a reply. Are the opinions of over 800 disabled people, so unvalued by the minister for disabled peopled, that you think it is acceptable to fail to even acknowledge receipt of a letter from them?

You continue to use statistics that have been widely condemned by fellow Mps, Unions and even the Clergy. Once again we ask that you refrain from twisting the statistics about DLA and make some effort to re build confidence in both your department, and government statistics that have become devalued by your department consistent misuse.

When our ministers cannot be trusted to tell the truth about benefits that affect so many vulnerable people and the public at large can no longer trust the statistics that drive reforms, it becomes vital that ministers do everything in their power to rebuild the trust of the public.

If they fail to do so, it becomes incumbent on the systems set in place, to ensure that ministers adhere to the rules placed upon them. And we will endeavour to ensure that process takes place.

Thank You Once Again for Your Time

Jayne Linney and Debbie Sayers

100,000 Signatures!!!

This morning at 9.32 Ali Afshar Dodson signed & tipped the figures to the magic 100,000. This is momentous News, we already know that IDS IS being called in to the Work & Pensions Select Committee answer for persistent misuse of statistics; so the goal has been met.

Thousands of people left comments stating their reason for signing was they expect MPs upon election to behave according to the Code of Conduct – with Integrity & Honesty; this proves we were correct to do this. This petition will be formally submitted to Parliament on September 4 2013, the same day as IDS attends the Select Committee, and hopefully will serve as reminder to ALL MPs they are subjected to Scrutiny by the People; and we WILL be watching.

Another very common reason for signing was the fact that IDS as minister for the DWP has failed to ensure that Welfare Reform does not Discriminate against Sick & Disabled People; as a group we are subjected to more of the Cuts than any other and this is in breach of  both Equality Legislation & our Human Rights. To this end I ask all of you who have signed, tweeted, shared & discussed this petition to do the same for the War on Welfare, WOW Campaign http://wowpetition.com and sign at http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/43154 offering your support to this campaign

ONLY TOGETHER CAN WE ACHIEVE POSITIVE CHANGE

It been a funny few last weeks, the amazing success of our petition, whilst being astonishing, thrilling & slightly scary, has also created several moments of tension.

I’ve had various people, particularly on Twitter make, what I felt were snide comments about the very fact our petition has received over 99,000 signatures; these have usually been in relation to other petitions.

I want to set the record straight once & for all; We as sick & disabled people, along with all other vulnerable & minority groups, have in the past 2 1/2 years been subjected to a huge number of cuts to our benefits and services, and an ever increasing amount of  hoops to travail. To begin to list them here would take a far better memory than mine.

In response to this oppression, a mammoth number of online campaigns, groups, petitions etc have emerged; and personally I am thrilled to witness & honoured to belong, to a good many of these. In my cyber world I have met far too many people to mention here, but suffice to say they are other bloggers, Tweeters, Facebook users, & online group members; which occasionally where they live locally, have become friends in my real world.

That said, each of these amazing people works tireless on their own little bit of a necessarily huge puzzle; albeit it Welfare Reform, Support for the NHS, Justice Reform, etc. all are striving to challenge the poisonous oppression experienced by the most vulnerable groups in Society.

And that brings full circle, each person, campaign, group & petition plays a vital part in the war we’re fighting, each battle is another victory in this war, each casualty hurts us all; but we are ALL fighting for ONE thing – Justice & Equality for vulnerable people.

It really should not matter which blogs result as articles in the National Press, which individuals represent us on TV, which campaigns receive the most coverage or which petitions get to Parliament; each and every one of those successes is an opportunity to celebrate, regroup and move on to the next battle.

Without every tweet, share, comment our petition to have IDS called to account for Lies would not have been the success it is, and when it ends as a formal presentation to Parliament, it will be an astounding achievement; and collectively we will raised even more awareness amongst the wider population to our war.

It is this ever increasing level of support from the electorate of the UK that will eventually help Parliament realise the people of Britain will not stand idly by whilst any one group is attacked & surely this above everything is our ultimate Goal?

ONLY TOGETHER CAN WE ACHIEVE POSITIVE CHANGE

Is Lying Contagious?

Can’t help but wonder whether like chickenpox or measles Lying is contagious??

I know it’s a daft thing to say but given the swamping of untruths and misuse of statistics from IDS, McVain, Hoban & Co we now have Mr Grant ‘Janus’ Shapps joining in!

He recently claimed “that nearly one million people on incapacity benefit (IB) had dropped their claims rather than face medical checks“; and yet  “official figures showed that just 19,700 IB recipients withdrew their claims before facing work capability assessments as part of the transfer to the new employment and support allowance (ESA) between March 2011 and May 2012“, according to the UK Statistics Authority chairman Andrew Dilnot (i)

For me this raise a question: just what is the Conservative Chairman, who’s role is to bolster morale and to show the Tories as being a Political Party worthy of your vote; doing by making false claims so easily rebutted, surely such actions only further demonstrate the Tory Party are anything but honest?

I guess many of you can possibly say you already knew this but I can’t help but ponder on the reasons for this behaviour; is it because they truly believe they’re ‘untouchable’? Patrick O Flynn in The Telegraph today explored this in a super article demonstrating how almost all MPs in the Cabinet hold very safe seats (ii) and he speculates how this may be a reason why “the Government seemed more concerned with arming so-called “rebels” in Syria than in tackling the living standards crisis facing the British people”.

I recognise this might play a factor in their apparent lack of consideration towards the electorate, but as I previously suggested in The End Game might they realise that as a Party they’re unlikely be elected in two years; therefore the goal is to decimate as much of the State as possible?

Whatever the thinking of the Tories I remain committed to Fighting their persistent Lying and hopefully our petition  which only need 964 names as I write this, will go some way to making this happen.

TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIEVE POSITIVE CHANGE
