Let’s Make sure Labour’s One Nation include Disabled people!

There’s been more than enough analysis on Ed Miliband’s speech to the Labour Party Conference but the one that struck a particular chord with me was from the wonderful Disability News, with a brilliant article noting how despite everything Disabled People who aren’t fortunate to be able to work aren’t included.

Another article in The Independent remarked on how Ed is asking all his Shadow Cabinet to make sure all Policies fit the One Nation idea.

So I’ve a proposal to all disabled people – take this opportunity to lobby Liam Byrne MP; Respond to his Making Rights a Reality for Disabled People paper and copy any response  to his team anne.mcguire.mp@parliament.uk & liz.kendall.mp@parliament.uk;  Email him at byrnel@parliament.uk,

I think we have to make every effort to ensure the Labour Party realises we as disabled people are a force to be reckoned with and a large group of voters!

  1. I think that’s an excellent idea. It would appear that we (as disabled) are being taken for fools as well as being taken for an easy target. We must put an end to this.
